The little match stick girl - lest we forget the moral of the tale

written is 1845 - was she an early female entrepreneur ? - or he she die of cold watching capitalists (like scrooge) pig out on turkey while she frozen to death ?

don't let society (your parents or your boss) threaten to beat you if you don't sell enough matches, the welfare state was set up to stop people being forced out to work and freezing to death, it isn't charity to claim your benefits - but there is 19 Billion pounds of welfare going unclaimed in UK, which the government could use like dormant funds in banks and invest in better working conditions, rather than horde it in their safe!

Hi This is Zara Lockwood's Personal blog (that does have stuff on it I sell too!) - I will be looking at light hearted current affairs and bit's from the UK, memories, photos etc. Currently living in south west of UK (Bridgwater, Somerset), have lived in Glastonbury, London, Burnham-on-sea, Reading, born in Plymouth, ancestors all over UK and USA - so we are probably related if you have European or UK roots!
